INAGURAL MEETING – 23RD APRIL 2022
The inaugural prayer meeting of Shiva Temple Manchester was on the Saturday, 23rd April 2022, at the Multipurpose Hall, Manchester Health academy, the event was marked by elaborate invocation and prayers towards Lord Ganesh, Rudra Abhishekam to Lord Shiva, Bhajans were sung by group of musicians along with chanting of Vedas and sacred Hymns. The event was attended by 220 people, this includes families, adults and kids, the prayers and poojas were led by Sivaprathan Gurukkal and Lambotharan Gurukkal from Port Talbot. The food was given free to all attendees of the meeting and was sponsored by Saispice restaurant. We also introduced our website www.shivatemplemanchester.co.uk to the public. All the attendees were given fruits and prasadham to take home.
MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING – 28TH May 2022
The second prayer meeting of Shiva Temple Manchester was held on 28th May 2022 at Multipurpose Hall, Manchester Health Academy, gaining from the popularity of the first event we had about 240 people attending the prayer meeting, Sivaprathan Gurukkal led the event, he did a religious discourse on the Saivite tradition of Hinduism followed by bhajans and maha aarathi. We had sponsors for food, and we received general donations as well.
Again, families with young children attended in good numbers and felt that the temple events were very beneficial particularly for the young children.
COAST TO COAST CYLING – 13TH AND 14TH MAY 2022
10 Men cycled the UK’s most popular and challenging cycling route covering 137 miles to raise awareness and funds to promote the cause of Shiva Temple Manchester.
The iconic route travelled between the Irish Sea and the North Sea, from Cumbria to Tyneside, passing through the northern lake district before climbing Pennines and descending to the railway paths of County Durham.
COMMUNITY CHARITY WALK – 26TH JUNE 2022
For the month of June, we organised a family friendly charity walk at the Goyt Valley, it was a wonderful day out for a just cause and was very well attended by around 110 people inclusive of adults and children, we had organised walk guides and all the participants received a food bag and a certificate of participation.
MONTHLY PRAYER MEETING – 30TH JULY 2022
Around 250 people from the community attended this prayer meeting, which was held at Multipurpose Hall, Manchester health academy, the priest Mr Ramesh Babu led the event, Bhajans were sung by adults and children, Food was provided to everyone who attended the event.
GANESH CHATHURTHI – 27TH AUGUST 2022
Special prayer meeting to celebrate the birth start of Lord Ganesh, around 300 people attended the event at Manchester Health Academy, special dance performance from Nirthya Kala Dance academy and Carnatic music singing performance by the kids from Madhu Arts were highlights of the event alongside the special pooja and abhishekam for the lord Ganesh.
NAMASANGEERTHANAM – 11TH SEPTEMBER 2022

The event was organised in collaboration with another charity called Radha Kalyana Mahotsav group UK, a team of 5 performing artists from India performed the religious bhajans for the devotees of Shiva Temple Manchester at the Jain Community Hall, Manchester, this event was a free for all event and it was attended by around 110 people including children, the performance was broadcast through social media where we have about 2500 views so far. It was a well-received event; the attendees were provided with free food as well.
